Difference between capacitor and resistor

Electric devices is very complicate and delicate. We use tons of component to protect and run an electric device. Sometimes you may feel very confused because of the function of the different components. Today, we are going to figure out the difference between capacitor and resistor.

Capacitor is made from two conductors which have a non-conducting insulating medium in between. When there are voltage running through the two conductor, the two conductor will storage electric charge. Hence, capacitor is an energy storage element and also the most used component in the electric field.

Resistor is a current limiting element which have specific construction and made of current resist material. The function of the resistor is to resist the current from passing by the circuit and consume the energy. The resist frequency is different due to different material the resistor is made by.

The information of the Capacitors and resistor will normally marked on the surface of the component. They have four ways to mark it.

1.Direct marking. Direct marking use numbers and unit symbols to mark the information on the component.

2.Literal symbol system. This method use numbers and literal symbol to show the information. The information will arrange in a specific rules.

3.Colour marking. This method use colour rings to revel the information. Different colour stand for different numbers. People need to memorize the number of the color, in order to receive the information quickly.

4.Digital representation. It use three digit numbers to show the information. The first and second number is significant number, and the third number is the rate number.
